My first session there in 2009 with Ernst (regular) and the landlady Anne Marie. Anne Marie wasn't to impressed about my rather big knowledge about beer with such a bad German. She provoked me into learning better German and thankfully it worked. I have since visited many times and enjoyed many nice conversations.

Brauerei Heckel (Waischenfeld)
Walking out after a good session at Heckel is not danger free. With no pavement you walk directly onto the street and on Saturdays where it closes early the street is rather busy.

Goldochsen Brauerei (Spielbach)
The Goldochsen Brauerei Gasthaus is as rural as it gets and I think it properly looked old some 50 years ago. Once your session comes to an end you need an audience with the old landlady at her desk to pay for your bill (seen in the background). We had a long enjoyable chat which ended with a “hope to see you again”.

This collection is more than just a showcase of beer; it's an invitation to explore Franconia's beer scene through my eyes. Whether you're familiar with Franconian beer or curious to learn more, I hope these images inspire you to delve deeper into the tastes and traditions of this remarkable region.
